One time I asked a co-worker if his 88 Honda Accord “had a manual”. He Replied, “Yeah I mean, I think it’s in the glove box.”
I realize my question I worded stupidly, but really...really.

I dont think its worded stupidly at all, I think the dude might not have been a real gearhead or something..? Or at least, not that much to understand the context of your questions in regards to transmissions.....

Better than if you asked him his car had a “Manuel” (as I often see on cl) and he said “yeah I think he’s in the trunk”.

Yeah, It would have been a normal question to a gearhead, but to a normal person it didn’t mean what I meant. And I kinda assumed that since he was driving an old carbureted Honda, that he was an enthusiast.
Edit ti was an 87, it had flip ups, but I remember seeing the hood up, and it wasn’t fuel injected so it couldn’t have been an 88.

I was recently explaining to some friends that part of the appeal of my newest car was that it came with a manual, at which point i was asked why i couldn’t look it up online. At least the dude is resourceful...
